Dalyn Cook has obtained diplomas from institutions in both the US (University of Kansas, Bachelor of Music in piano; University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Master of Music in fortepiano) and the Netherlands (Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, Bachelor en Master of Music in fortepiano). At the end of her bachelor study in the US, she discovered the fortepiano and subsequently came to the Netherlands on a Fulbright scholarship to delve into the world of early music.

In 2014, she was awarded first prize in the Nordic Historical Keyboard Festival clavichord competition. Since then, she has given concerts for the Dutch Clavichord Society and the German Clavichord Society in addition to appearances at festivals such as BachFestival Dordrecht, the Festival Oude Muziek fringe series, and the Geelvinck Fortepiano Festival.

She has more than 20 years’ experience teaching piano lessons and has worked with students of all ages and levels. In addition to sharing her love of early music with students, she is happy to teach in many different styles. Her lessons take a holistic approach combining improvisation, music theory and history, technique and performance practice, and lessons are specially tailored to each student’s musical ambitions.
