Katrina Kabinecka is a Latvian vocalist, songwriter and educator based in the Netherlands. She discovered her love for music, and particularly for singing, at a very young age, beginning with pop singing lessons and later studying saxophone and classical choral music before discovering her interest in jazz. Katrina studied jazz vocals in Latvia before moving to the Netherlands, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. During her studies, she developed her artistic voice and deepened her interest in composition. In 2025, she completed her Master’s degree in Jazz Vocal at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she focused on exploring the possibilities of the voice through unconventional methods and advanced vocal techniques.
As an artist, Katrina finds inspiration in nature and the complexities of society, using music to reflect on the world around her. She is drawn to evocative storytelling, giving space for mystery and different perspectives. Her music blends influences of Latvian folk music, jazz and art rock creating a lyrical yet free and distinctive sound.
Katrina is part of various musical projects and bands and has performed at festivals and competitions. She regularly takes part in masterclasses, international exchange projects and emerging artist programmes, continuously expanding her musical practice and experience. As an educator, she enjoys sharing her knowledge, experience and passion for music with her students.
