Martina Bergonzoni is an Italian jazz singer and guitarist based in Amsterdam, celebrated for her captivating blend of jazz and Brazilian music. A dynamic and expressive performer, she brings together refined artistry and emotional depth, creating performances that are both intimate and powerful.
She has performed on prestigious stages, including AFAS Live (Amsterdam), TivoliVredenburg (Utrecht), Munganga Theater (Amsterdam), Torpedo Theater (Amsterdam), and Teatro Ristori (Verona). Martina has also performed as main act at renowned festivals such as Vicenza Jazz, Barga Jazz, Valdobbiadene Jazz Festival in Italy, and Grachten Jazz Festival and North Sea Round Town in the Netherlands.
In 2025, she was invited as a Young Talent of the Netherlands to be featured on the Keep an Eye Foundation Podcast. She has been part of the vocal lineup of the Symphony of Caos project by Asco and opened the concert of GeGè Telesforo for International Jazz Day, further establishing her presence within the European jazz scene.
Her artistic journey has been marked by important recognitions, including first prizes at the “Music 4 the Next Generation” and “Dai De Jazz” competitions. A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, one of Europe’s leading conservatories, Martina has developed a distinctive style that balances technical sophistication with heartfelt storytelling.
Deeply devoted to Brazilian music, she draws inspiration from João Gilberto, Antônio Carlos Jobim, and Elis Regina. Blending the understated elegance of bossa nova, the vibrant energy of samba, and the expressive depth of MPB, Martina creates a sound that honors tradition while embracing a contemporary voice.
