Ukulele lessons

At Muziekacademie Amsterdam, we offer ukulele lessons for children aged 5 and up. 

The ukulele is an excellent instrument for children to begin their musical journey. In our ukulele lessons designed specifically for younger children, we place significant emphasis on developing a strong technique, teaching simple scales and melodies, and practicing basic chords and rhythmic patterns. This foundational approach allows your child to quickly master popular melodies and accompany songs after just a few lessons.

For pre-teens and teenagers, our instruction takes a personalized approach by aligning the lessons with their musical preferences while upholding a strong commitment to maintaining excellent technique. Creating a harmonious balance between playing their favorite songs and engaging in technical exercises proves to be an effective method in keeping our students highly motivated and propelling their musical abilities to new heights.

In addition to our individual lessons, we also offer band workshops for kids from the age of 10 where all students, starting at an advanced beginner level, are welcome to join and learn all about playing, rehearsing, and, of course, performing with a band!
