Saxophone lessons

At Muziekacademie Amsterdam we offer Saxophone lessons for children aged 7 and up.

Our saxophone lessons for children are specially designed for young, aspiring saxophonists. The lessons are engaging and focus on developing a strong technical foundation while making the learning process enjoyable and interactive.

Key Highlights:

• Solid Technique: Our dedicated instructors will guide the student through the essentials of saxophone technique. They will learn proper hand placement, finger coordination, and breath control to produce beautiful tones right from the start.

• Posture and Embouchure: We emphasize the importance of correct posture and embouchure formation to ensure students’ comfort and lay the groundwork for a lifetime of effortless saxophone playing.

• Fun-Filled Learning: Learning music should be enjoyable! Through interactive games, creative exercises, and engaging activities, we keep kids excited about their musical journey. From musical games to themed practice challenges, we ensure a joyful learning experience.

• Musical Fundamentals: While having a great time, students will also hone essential musical skills such as intonation and rhythm. They’ll learn to play in tune and develop a strong sense of timing, setting the stage for their musical growth.
• Music Reading: Our lessons place a strong emphasis on music reading and comprehension. Kids will gradually build their proficiency in reading sheet music, allowing them to explore a wide range of songs and genres.

In our lessons for pre-teens and teenagers, we place a strong focus on each student’s individual goals and music preferences, in addition to all the above. This approach ensures that students stay motivated and continue to learn new skills and techniques while playing their favorite songs.

In addition to our individual lessons, we also offer band workshops for kids from the age of 10 where all students, starting at an advanced beginner level, are welcome to join and learn all about playing, rehearsing, and, of course, performing with a band!
